I work for an organization that has to communicate a ton of complex, not-so-fun-to-read content via the web.  And guess who works on the web team in the communications department?  You guessed it…  Me!  Fun!

Fun?  Actually it has been.  For some strange reason, I’ve enjoyed the challenge of making our content more readable and user-friendly.  There is something about cutting it up, making it more succinct, easier to understand and figuring out what will catch people’s eye as they are “reading” (aka scanning) our online communications.  The following link lists the main “rules” I use to write readable content.  #8 is new, for me anyway, and I will be trying it out very soon – probably tomorrow…  http://www.copyblogger.com/scannable-content/
